Shooting stars and wishes

So, although I was feeling tired and lazy by 11.30pm I put my winter coat on, and my wristwarmers, because it's that cold here tonight even though it's August, and went out to try to see the Perseid meteor shower, also called 'The Tears of St Lawrence' (whoever he was). You probably still can see more shooting stars than on a normal night as they will be visible until 24th August, but the 12th was meant to be the best night.

I knew I should have stayed up! I wish you had pictures, I bet they were so lovely to see. :(

PS: I swear I'll reply to your email - campus is back in action now, there are people everywhere, and I'm up to my eyeballs already and classes haven't even begun yet. I plan on replying either in a little bit, or tomorrow morning. :]

Pssh, you're nocturnal. I bet you were playing GTA, or playing with Ian or something and didn't go outside :P Anyway, it requires patience and waiting around in the dark so I don't blame you but at least it's not cold there. Looking at my picture above, I was thinking that there had to have been showers as good as that or no-one would have made an engraving (or whatever it is) of it. I saw a mini shower of green meteors, driving home late one night several years ago. I actually pulled the car over to stop and look and enjoy as I had never seen anything like that before. To this day no-one believes they were green. They were! (And I hadn't been drinking either!) The Northern Lights often look green too ( ... )
