The "fall back" daylight savings time change is great because you get an extra hour of sleep... unless you're working and you get an extra hour of work.

A friend that I met from working here was indited this week on manslaughter charges. She apparently stabbed some guy 10-20 times, then severed his spinal column with a fire poker. Its amazing the kind of people you meet on night shift.

For the last four weekends in a row, we've had a patient in the ER die. For the year and a half I have been here before that, I had only seen one or two die. ... something is afoot. Also, they all seem to expire only when I am in the room. The trend is also towards more gruesome deaths. Hopefully next weekend will be death free.

My illustrious coworker made hot pockets for dinner tonight at work. Now I think we all know the right way to make a hot pocket. Take the pastry out, slide it into the cardboard sleve, and then microwave. Of course, first you have to take the pastry and sleve out of the plastic wrap. Tonight a patient came in having gone to the Carmike movie theater and sat on a used needle in one of the theater seats. Apparently heroin is the only way to tolerate "Just Like Heaven."
