[If anyone thinks that Cedric Diggory, prefect, Quidditch Captain, and Triwizard Champion, is going to sit around this weird house that he woke up in, filled with pictures of people he doesn't know and him (which is more terrifying than anything else, like he really lives here), then they have another think coming. It's bad enough his wand is gone ( Read more... )

[Though every house looks the same, this one particular house Cedric passes by stands out, as there's a boy in the yard playing with a dodo bird.

And then he passes by it again. And maybe even one more time, since Mayfield goes in an infinite loop.

Cynric blinks at you as he goes by again.]

Where are you going?

What?

[He blinks, looks around. This ... all looks very familiar. This house, this yard, the kid with the bird.

How many times has he been through here?]

I'm leaving.

i just noticed they're next door neighbors, actually. XD dodo_master February 7 2011, 19:08:21 UTC
Oh, well, no wonder you passed by so many times! You can't leave that way, you know.

[ Luna did not expect to see her former schoolmate while she was out taking a walk, and as such, pauses in her step slightly. She didn't know Cedric while at school, but at this point, everyone knew of him.
]

Hello, Cedric.

I didn't expect to be seeing you again so soon...

[Being greeted by name stops him in his tracks, and he stops, stares. She's little, blonde. Ravenclaw, he's almost sure. A few years younger than him. If this was an accident, why is she here?]

...Lovegood, isn't it? Why are you here?

Yes, though I believe my presence is somewhat less astounding than yours.

[she smiles brightly]

It is very nice to see you again.

Yeah, it's good to see you again, too.

[Pause.]

...why is my presence so astounding?

[Lion's heading home since school had let out a while ago, and being a teacher meant he had to stay back to gather everything up and close the classroom. Hence Cedric will see a very androgynous person heading towards him, who will give him a polite nod.] Good afternoon.

[He pauses as he's greeted, taking in the person with what he hopes doesn't come off as overt suspicion. If this is some sort of Death Eater trap, then it won't do to reveal too much information or give away that he suspects.]

Hello.

[Lion can sense some suspicion, and from that he can conclude that whoever this person is, he must be new. Well, one way to find out.]

I'm afraid I haven't seen you around here before...did you just arrive?

Yeah, I guess I did.

[Oddly nice if this is a Death Eater trap.]

What is this place?

[Passing him on the street, Neville gives him an bemused look, but keeps walking.

Wait.
Spinning around (and dropping the sack of potatoes he's holding) he stares after Cedric like he's seen a ghost. Which, to him, he has.] C- Cedric?

[Leaving the bag on the ground, he runs over to grab his arm and get a closer look.] Cedric Diggory?

[Hearing his name, Cedric stops mid-stride, looks around. He spots Neville, who's vaguely familiar to him - and when the other boy grabs his arm, he stiffens, immediately tries to pull it out of his grasp. If this is a Death Eater trap, that isn't on.]

Er - yeah, that's me.

[He lets Cedric's arm go, content merely to stare. Merlin's hairy beard it's really him-] It's me, Cedric! Neville L-Longbottom. I'm in Gryffindor, I was a fourth year when you-

How is it- I mean, how can you be here? What happened?

Oh! Longbottom! Potter's friend, yeah; I remember you now.

['When you - ?' When he what? And it sounds like he's not a fourth year now; he does look older than a fourth year but ... what?]

I don't know, do I? I was in that graveyard with Potter and then someone said something, there was a flash of light, and I ended up here. What happened to you?

[Because all Harry Potter kids take walks, obviously! Hermione's walks around Mayfield has been something that'd only increased after a certain proposal to Harry. Becoming even more frequent, longer after she had made a call to the town. She had things on her mind, only increasingly so as people appeared from their world.]

[So, really, it was no wonder why she was wandering around again at ~some point~ today. Which, like so many others, was how she spotted Cedric. With a hitch in her throat, she'd paused at the familiar profile. While she'd never really spoken to him, thanks to the Triwizard Tournament and how close she was to one of the Champions, nor how she looked up to him for being handsome a prefect... Well, it just became a profile she would recognize. Didn't it?

[A startling one, albeit. But within the last few weeks she'd seen many people from her world "come back from the dead". It was just as nervewracking, but the logical part of her brain insisted that in Mayfield this had happened countless times before... Logical ( ... )

[The sound of his name startles him, and his hand instinctively goes for where his wand - still isn't. Right. Damn. His fingers flex uselessly by his side as he turns slowly to see who's called him. It's Potter's friend - the brainy one; Krum's date to the ball. Her appearance throws him off - her being here at all, and she looks older, at least by a year or two. If this is part of the task, why wouldn't they use someone he's close to?

Suspiciously, he takes a step towards her.]

Granger?

[The fact he said her last name only proved further he wasn't a drone. Since, after all, according to the town she'd somehow been married long enough to Kai to have teenage children. She doesn't linger on the thought, however, as her brows furrow and take in his posture. If being on the run helped with anything it made some of those gestures become all too familiar to her.]

[She doesn't move, really. Everyone also looked older than what they were supposed to, too. More his age than the barely teenaged forms they had been long ago-- She's not even completely sure what to say.]

That's right-[A pause and slight hitch.] Sorry. It's a bit strange seeing you here.

[...let's try to keep casual. yeah.]

[He takes her in. She definitely looks older - his age, actually. Which is weird. She's a fourth-year, isn't she? She should look smaller. She looked smaller yesterday when he saw her with Potter.]

It's strange seeing you here, too. You weren't in the graveyard; how'd you end up here?
