i talk so much about wanting to write and do so little of it.

two years ago brad and i both said to each other "this is the year i'm going to write my novel" and for about five minutes i believed in us. i believed that we had it in us to do it, but unless he has his hidden in a shoebox somewhere, it didn't happen. it certainly didn't happen for me

its really hard to be productive when youre drunk. the last time i was drunk i realized that i had been drunk every evening for about two weeks and it was the most uncreative and uninspiring two weeks ever. being drunk is like procrastinating life... and then you stop being drunk and get really pissed off at yourself for being drunk so damn long and not doing anything worthwhile, which is so overwhelmingly disapointing that it makes you want to drink more... thats why alcoholism is sad i guess. i wonder what else hemmingway would have written if he put down the bottle.

i have to agree with all that. not that we ever used to hang out much, but i somehow can't imagine you as much of a drinker. sometimes, though, i do manage to get quite creative when i'm drinking. good poems come from that sometimes, don't they?? but everything else just comes out like that entry i wrote - messy and all .. undone, somehow.

Ya know, I really wish I would just get on that. I started it once a few months back and started sounding really good, but I'm really not sure what happened to it.

But I think that something I've noticed is that I don't think I was ever trully addicted to sex. I was just very unfulfilled. Because I live my life a lot differently now, and I think I like it better this way [even though adam probably doesn't always appreciate the drop in sexual activity]
