i am looking for something tangible and meaningful in a world where everyone and everything are considered expendable.

I used to feel that way once, then I found out that I was considered expendable.

Fair enough.

I think I stopped looking for something tangible / meaningful a while back because in my opinion it didn't exist. I know that's an irrational thought and just based on numbers alone such a person should exist, but that's the whole thing behing being irrational. When I discovered how expendable most people found me , I started to think that in general people consider each other expendable as a general rule in this society. I observed people acting this way far more often than not. It might be a matter of opinion, but it's a very commonly shared opinion.

They say that the last item left in the bottom of Pandora's box was hope. What I'm wondering is - if all the other items flew out and ran loose in the world, why did hope stay behind in the bottom of the box? I think we might all be better off if hope also flew out of the box and spread itself around as much as it's counterparts. It might be easier to find that way, and as such easier to hold on to.

Very well thought out commentary. My husband being a photographer and using a lot of nude models deals with this kind of thought pattern a lot.
