So here we are...10 days until the wedding, 12 days until the honeymoon with the NONREFUNDABLE HOTEL RESERVATIONS (guess which one I'm more concerned about kids!)...and I have developed a sore throat and am sneezing. I've had a tickle in my throat for a few days and today it developed into a sore throat. Started sneezing this afternoon. Its too ( Read more... )

even if its not a flu & just a cold - you'll probably be over it within 10 days.

Keep yourself hydrated, get rest...bla bla bla (you know how to take care of yourself, I know). Keep aspirin on hand, in case you feel like you're feverish. I highly recommend Zicam cold & flu formula. It's usually available at Walgreens; the stuff works great!

Avoid J. If it is viral, you'll spread it to him and he'll peak at the worst possible time.

Will send you a couple sessions of distance Reiki during work today.

Hang in there and if you can, avoid consuming tons of sugar! Sugar has been proven to put your white blood cells to sleep for up to six hours. So yes, juice is healthy and good for you, but it's also pretty high in sugar. Water it down if you can, don't add a ton of honey/sugar to your echinacea, and snack on crackers, chips, etc instead of cookies or other sweet things.

*germ-free hugs*

Awww, but I love sugar :(

My echinacea comes in pill form so I dont have to worry about adding anything to it.

Thanks for the Reiki! I dont want to cancel the bachelorette party so I've gotta feel better.

Vitamin C... lots and lots of Vitamin C... it's proven to work better than echinacea for shortening the duration and severity of illness.

Good thoughts your way, but be careful with the flu shot! It often makes perfectly healthy people immediately get the flu, and it only protects against a few strains so he could just as easily get a different strain while his immune system is still dealing with the vaccine.

Also, I would be inclined to say it's just allergies if you aren't coughing, vomiting, and feeling like you've been hit by a truck at this point. Flu tends to whollop quicker and harder than what you're describing. Pick your favorite anti-histamine and get to it!

J bought me two jugs of simply orange juice. We'll see how much of it I can drink today.

I'm feeling better and there's been no vomiting, fever or major aches so I'm really hoping its just allergies.
