Today I am grateful for small miracles. I am grateful that the weekend was sunny, that I didn't get burnt, that everyone seems to be on the mend. I am also (somewhat ashamedly) grateful that my family and friends live in Queensland, not Victoria. For this weekend, at least 131 people have died in bushfires in Victoria, with many perishing as they ( Read more... ) -
Roller Coaster 2009 - Begin!
It's only been 20 days since 2009 started and I'm already wiped out. Not a great start overall, but at least I guess it's given me time to think. I crashed my car this morning. I'm not hurt, my car is drivable, but my pride and my wallet hurts - $950 excess! So that needs to be done some time in the next month.

NZ General Election
I have 6 days in which to finish my thesis (breathe! breathe!), but what am I doing instead? Following the NZ General Election. It only just closed for peets sake, and yet I'm checking on all the electorates to see which way they are going. It only got to 32C (86F) today, but it poured with rain. We are now almost completely isolated with two of the three ways out flooded out. My sister and I went for a drive (and an illegal driving lesson) and while we noticed that the creeks and ponds actually had water, it didn't look so bad.
