This was a great post. I am impressed that the SCA was a student organization. At the time and place I was in college the SCA didn't get going until my senior year and we were decidedly off-campus and generally unknown to just about everybody.

It's also particularly wonderful to hear about your entrance to fandom. "Entrance to fandom" stories can be quite varied and often interesting. Yours certainly is.
