today i started my new practicum! it's in cochrane (a small rural town 20 mins from my place) in a francophone catholic school... my class is so small! it's a 5/6 split with four grade 5 students and six grade 6 students... yeah only ten kids! crazy ( Read more... ) -
stick-on bras
this woman came in with her daughter today and were looking at buying the stick-on bras. i don't see how these could work very well, unless you're wearing a corset-y wedding dress or you are an A-cup. but i sell them all the time anyway because people seem to like them. my boobs are too big to even attempt them. where did the summer go?
it's really embarassing bumping into people this week, asking me what i've been up to all summer... i really don't know, besides folding down bras and selling panties at La Senza. two weeks at stampede. i don't really have much else to say! i guess i witnessed the birth of an alpaca or two... i'll use that to fatten up my LAME life. but hey, it ( Read more... ) -

i have been very busy working at the calgary stampede since last monday. every year i hate it more. but really it's always the same: first days you are desperately trying to control all the 15-year-old 10-day staff. by the middle of the week, everyone finally gets it, so i can relax and actually take my scheduled breaks. by the last few days, ( Read more... ) -
new glasses!!!
i am so happy with my new funky glasses!
except i'm kinda sad because they don't fit perfectly. my eyelashes catch on them if i push them too far up my face, and they also seem to slip off a lot. in fact they have already fell off my face once! i will go get them adjusted and try again...

one year since france...
yesterday was the one-year anniversary of the day i came back to canada from my year abroad in france. i think i am finally used to it now... i was pretty depressed about it like 2 months ago though... i really loved my life there. it's not the same here. and also it sucks that i can't tell people "last year i went to france" anymore ( Read more... ) -
accents
i just watched defiance, that movie about nazis and russia with daniel craig. it was pretty good. it's one of those movies where everyone talks to themselves in english with a foreign accent, which i think is hilarious. although they did end up talking russian and using subtitles. anyways, now i have a russian accent stuck in my head. like my ( Read more... ) -

yesterday as we were driving home from work, i saw an old east indian man walking very slowly, pushing a little indian baby in a stroller. THEN we saw an old asian man walking down the street leaning way over to the side because he was holding a little asian baby's hand.
