“Have I mentioned that only crazy people run into a burning building?” he said, giving her shoulders a little squeeze.

“Well, we’re all crazy to some extent. Or why else would we still be here?”

He thought about objecting, then remembered his plans for later that afternoon. “True. At least we’re in good company.”

Ah! That's sweet!

Oh shit! I knew Xander was going to do something crazy like talk to the Knights. Spike is going to be pissed as hell!

Yeah, Spike is going to be more than a little cranky about this latest stunt. Of course, he wouldn't love Xander as much as he does if Xander was a safe and sane kind of guy...

Well that's Xander - especially in this universe he is the peacemaker. Not sure it's going to work with these fanatics.

He really has taken on the peacemaker role here. All that learning about demons has really changed his perspective on things.

As soon as he headed to the camp I know he was going to get into trouble. Spike is gonna be beyond pissed about this turn of events. Poor Xander always trying to be the peacemaker...just hope it doesn't wind up with Spike actually following thru on his threat of tying him to the bed for the rest of his natural life.

Can't wait to read the next chapter

I don't know. The whole tying-to-the-bed scenario has some intriguing benefits. *g*

You know - Xander has the self-preservation instincts of a lemming.

Just sayin'.

I agree with Spike. Chain the boy to a bed and leave him there. ::nods:: Yep. That'll work. ;-)

I suspect Spike thinks he has the self-preservation instincts of a SUICIDAL lemming. I'm sure the chaining will be discussed. *g*

I have great respect that Spike still doesn't trust Willow. Xander, by his very nature, is forgiving, but Spike wants his boy safe and he's willing to do what's necessary to keep him.

And, then Xander walks into the lions' den. Hum. Spike's going to *love* this!

I enjoyed as always and look forward to more!

Spike's not big on giving second chances. He'd forgive injury to himself a lot quicker than harm to Xander. I think Willow gets that now. And, no, Spike is not going to be happy about this latest stunt.
