Nifty - LJ now has a 'like' button. It's a heart that appears after the end of a post, but only if you go into the post itself, not if you're only looking at it on your Feed. The person whose post it is gets an email notification apparently. I like the fact that it's there so I can indicate I read something and liked it even if I didn't have a ( Read more... )

Yes, although I don't see it on this post. I may need to dig into settings to enable it or something.

The heart I see says "Add to memories" on its mouseover. Is that the one you mean? (it's above the post, not after the end, but I don't see one after the end!)

No, it's a different heart that appears as an outline but fills in if you click it, but it's not in my posts but is there for Teddy and Marilisa. Very odd.

Not sure this leaves me much wiser!

No, I found that, but it appears to be something different than this heart process, which must be automatic or it wouldn't be there to the surprise of Teddy and ML

Weirdly, I see it against your post on http://rmc28.livejournal.com/feed
but not on
http://rmc28.livejournal.com/friends/
and not on this post when looking at it directly

(I use the /feed on my phone and /friends on desktop)

How odd. I didn't even know there were two different ways of looking at your friends feed!

/feed is the "new" way, which has infinite scrolling rather than showing a fixed number of posts at a time. I don't particularly like it, but it's also responsive to screen size in a way that /friends isn't.

/friends is the old-school friends page which I somehow wrestled settings to keep when LJ was nagging everyone to move to the Shiny New Feed. But it doesn't adapt to a mobile device in the same way.

Thanks for the explanation. I have /friends bookmarked as that's the view I prefer.

I'm getting it on the entries in my friends' feed. And on your entry. I'm glad to have it for the same reason I say "RAEBNC" in apa contributions.

What's strange to me is that it's showing on some of my friends' posts but not on others...

Yeah, that's bizarre, and I can't find any logic to it either.
