wow, this sounds awesome. I can't imagine counting every jump - how does it not drive you insane? Shishido does 1000 every morning? geez, who is the draconian overlord over at Hyotei, anyway?
Mom counts for me because if I do it in my head, I can only count in sets of ten, and then I forget the tens digit and end up doing the forties several times without realizing >______>;
ah, that makes sense. on the few occasions when I had to count, I would hold rocks in my hand and drop one on the ground every time I hit 10. that way if I got lost I could count how many 10s I had jumped. Going over 100 at once required me to get a little creative, though. Usually I just took 10 seconds and gathered up my rocks then used a stick to count 100s. But this was back when I would be jumping for 20 or 30+ minutes at a time for fundraising.
[edit] I was also like 10 at this point in time. Boundless energy.
Shishido probably doesn't do 1,000 continuous jumps. Whenever I do jump rope with the table tennis club it's simply get to 100 and you can mess up along the way as long as you COMPLETE 100 jumps so I imagine that's what Shishido does. So in your case that's 10 sets of 100 jumps. Which from your graph you can do.
Next time, instead of seeing how many continuous jumps you can do, see how many you can do in 2 minutes (allowing for messing up) and slowly increase the time as your stamina goes up.
I'm not trying to get to 1000 in one go, that's crazy, haha. But a thousand a day is totally doable. It's the fact that he gets up at five, jogs, jumps rope, does morning drills, and by then it's nine o'clock which is when I get out of bed sometimes during break |:
Speed jumps! Haha, I can either go really fast for a short while, or sort of slow for a longer time. Really fast hurts a lot when it hits my legs though, I've learned that much xD;
Shishido also cut off his pretty, long hair for tennis is a special boy. >___>
I agree with krystalphoenix. Doing multiple sets seems much more realistic, especially since we are, in fact, human, not super-human tennis boys. D: When I jump rope, I don't care about numbers, really, but time. I try to go for a few minutes (or an entire song) without messing up, and then do that a few more times. Maybe you could work your way up to 1,000 jumps? I don't think I could, though. OTL
And congrats! Since just recently learning how to jump rope, you're doing really, really well! :D
I only count jumps because I'm curious to see how many I get do without messing up xD; But a hundred jumps is just barely over a minute, huh, and songs are around four? I can't tell if I'm going too fast/slow or if I'm jumping too high/low and that's the reason I mess up, not from getting tired >________>;
Ah, I see. For me, it was starting off too fast so I'd mess up about halfway through a song. Or, I was being lazy and jumping too low. >__> I guess it's a personal thing, whatever you feel comfortable with. After awhile, you should be able to find a groove that works for you. Like I said, eventually I realized I started off too ambitious and too fast. After I slowed down a little, I managed to get through an entire song (about three minutes, heh) without messing up.
