I find this to be hilarious.

Since I work in an Emergency Department (one of the Safe Haven drop-off points), we've been discussing this since before it became law. The one thing everybody kept saying was, "they'd better make an age limit for this, otherwise we'll get fuckers dropping off their teenagers every day."

Yeah, well... we've already had three kids over the age of 5 in our E.R. alone.

Morons.

So you've had other kids dropped off too? I've been following this a bit since before it became official too, and I thought these four instances were the only ones so far.

Oh, no... we've had three in our ER alone. I know there've been more around town. The ones that get reported on are usually the more dramatic cases (9 kids, teenagers, etc), but it's happening at an alarming frequency.

The system is already overwhelmed and underfunded, dropping more responsibility on them is stupidity in the same vein as no child left behind.
