Awwite. We arrived, all present & correct. Very hot, very green. The earth is white sand. Drank coconut milk direct from the nut. Water is rust-coloured, white flesh first yellows then reddens as it sinks. The same thing, coincidentally, that happens to white flesh when the sun hits it. At Lethem, small settlement in the south of the country

I'm never entirely sure whether human ingenuity and creativity amaze me more than the natural world but I'm certainly envious that you're getting to experience so many terrifyingly wonderful things.
