This is well done. Poor Carson, since about... oh "Instinct" the boy has needed a break and he hasn't gotten one. And John too... they both need a good sit down with Kate Heightmeyer soon or they're both gonna flip out. :)
Poor woobie boys.

As for the companion piece - it wouldn't go out of my head, so it's almost finished. Should be up by tomorrow :)
Doesn't seem to be getting any more cheerful though - hopefully tonight's ep will remedy that ;P

And yeah, there's nothing not dark about the events of this episode. Everyone's right and everyone's wrong. It's just a mess, and your fic shows that well.
I'm hoping tonight's will be light and humorous... we need a break. I'm supposed to go to a concert at the zoo tonight, but I'm pretty sure I'll be skipping that at this point. :)

Well, it's done. here
Yeah, I'm hoping tonight's will be good (though here in the UK I have to wait a couple of days to get hold of it). From what I've seen it reminds me of a classic Star Trek ep!

You're right, there always need to be more of this pairing :)
As for the emotion - *pets Carson* I don't think this is something he's going to get over that easily, and I don't think John will be leaving him off world alone again in a hurry ;P

It must be hard for Carson in this one, as well as all the normal troubles with the ethics and vaccine use, he has to deal with being offworld and fighting the wraith as well.
I wanted to hug him so much when he said he'd lost some of his empathy.
