the odd bit of medical equipment

When you're next down, I'll show you the pieces I now have and we can have a think about the bits that are still needed... A lot of them I can find or make myself, but there are a few bits that I'll need your help with - cautery irons, tooth hammer, pliers, etc.

Quite a list of scarry items you have there, i think we need to visit Kent this winter and not just to see Goudhurst.
I got a shipwreck detectives DVD at the weekend and one of the ships it delt with was the man o war Sterling Castle, commissioned by Charles the 2nd and it sunk in the great storm in 1703 most of the artifacts are in the small maritime museum at Ramsgate and most of the ship is well preserved in a huge sandbank of the Kent coast so even leather goods have survived!
They mentioned finding the surgeons room complete with tools etc, unfortunatly they didn't show any of them but they should be in the museum.

Perhaps you could do an 'official' viewing request as you did for our Bucklers Hard visit?

Maybe the coachman's coat we planned, oh ages ago.
Then maybe it will boot me up the proverbial to finish your Gorget that i started ages ago!
God i really need to finish some of the stuff i have started for you, there's the manic buckler not to mention the entire folder of things that currently exist only on paper.

I've still got the first draft I made for the pattern for that, so I'll have to see if I can dig it out - I think it vanished into a box or bag somewhere during the abortive move... I know where the fabric for it is anyway. Did you have any preferences for buttons?

Ah yes buttons you know i cant remember the colour of the fabric i got for the coat now, i could do with having a sample to decide what buttons to go for.
I will be ordering some stuff from Sutlers so possibly buttons from there, or go to the trade fair (apparently it dosen't clash with whitby now) so i could have a look around there.

Thank you for the warning on that one however as it's the Whitby weekend directly before it, funds and work commitment will not allow it.
I am am hoping they will do one in December or early next year, then we shall dress up fantasicly and party like no ones business Sir.
