man, if you figure it out, let me know. my old office chair became one of those, rather suddenly, over a weekend. probably because of someone flinging themselves into it at high drunken velocity. it was only three or four months old at the time.
as far as i could tell, the hydraulic column had been bent just enough to let some air in briefly, and then resealed. so i'm not sure that it could be fixed without replacing the hydraulic support.
