The weather has taken a turn for the hot and dry and Trixie finds herself having to haul water from the river over to her makeshift veggie garden. It's long, hard work.
In swing three Spider-Girls, two in nearly indentical outfits, and a third...well, she's in weretiger form. The shorter of the girls, and the were-tiger, look a little bit scorched. The tiger less so, but all the same, it's obviously been a rough night.
"Task!" Mayday calls. "I brought company. Do you mind?" Then she turns to Trixie. "Hi, um...?"
"Naw, darlin'. It'll be like a compass, 'cept instead of pointing north, it'll point to him."
Hrr. There is something serious off about the 'feel' of this blood. "You looking for a human or somethin' else?" Nope, not Angelica root, that'd be wrong for this one. Eggshells from a rotten egg.
"Something else?" She frowns, and looks down into her mug. "I don't know. I thought I was looking for a human, but not many humans can teleport, can they? And Hornhead definitely isn't human..."
"Alright, alright. Gonna do some fidget-y stuff. All of ya, move over there, outta the circle, stay quiet and lemme have some peace."
If this blood even has the chance of what she thinks it could be, Trixie isn't going to take any chances. Once the girls and Taskmaster have moved she relays a circle of salt and starts to quietly whisper.
May frowns, and shakes her head. "I still can't believe he did that. But hey, not the first time he's been supidly heroic--" Her eyes widen as she remembers it, not for the first nor last time that night. Darkdevil taking the hit for her. Letting himself get skewered by Venom. "He's a demon. He has to a demon. Do you know mutants who spew fire when they're hurt?"
((Hmmm. Maybe Alexa can mention something she saw on lookout that made her think "demony"?))
"Oi, shut it. S'demonic alright. So I gotta be careful, yeh? Don't wanna get us all tainted or sucked into hell. Feck. Kids." She's not a happy camper, nope, not at all.
After finishing the salt circle, she can really start on this. Finding demons tends to be easier than finding humans, but they're much more dangerous. If she had known that there would be demons involved, well, if wishes were horses all men would ride.
So, Reilly was definitely a demon. That was two out of who knows how many secrets he'd been keeping from her?
"Uhm, I think he's a good demon, if that helps at all."
Which it wouldn't, because she's only half-right. The human soul living inside her cousin? Completely good. The spirit of vengeance that turned him into a demon? Not so much.
"There was a guy at the mansion looking into the papal vows. He could rewind time."
Alexa becomes serious. "When I met Reilly, there was definately something... I'm not sure. Horns were involved. And a little push in the paranormal direction. I don't know what a demon's supposed to feel like, but I'm betting that's it."
Pause. "Aren't demons supposed to be the bad guys, though?"
((S'okay. And the part about the papal vows- my limited knowledge tells me that's how you get into anything in the Catholic church. So yay for making stuff up!))
"Rewinding time would be useful," May sighed. Then she shook her head and laughed -- a real one, this time. "I always thought the horns were fake. But, hey, no! Reilly's a good demon. He's always looked out for me, even if he's always been a jerk about it."
Alexa put her hands up. "Hey, I'm not doubting you. I just barely know the guy, that's all. He sort of reminds me of a hero from my world. The name Matt Murdoch ring any bells?"
"Task!" Mayday calls. "I brought company. Do you mind?"
Then she turns to Trixie. "Hi, um...?"

((Same. Night!))

She pauses. "And the way I saw him almost go off on Osborn the other night? Definately makes me lean towards the 'something else'."
((I have no idea how to properly integrate Alexa back into the story. *whistles* Open to suggestions if need be.))

A good guy who can go a little too far laying down the smackdown on bad guys, she had to admit, but other than that -- Reilly was good. Wasn't he?
