OK, so this is like the first piece of long fan fic I've finished in forever. I'm not 100% sure of it, so please tell me if it's shit or something. Anyway, my first Castle fic
( Read more... )
I liked this! Castle and Barney are so similar that of course they'd clash. =) And I liked the bit about how Castle was analyzing Barney like he was one of his characters, because that's one of my favorite parts about his character. Though when I was reading this, I kept picturing Dr. Horrible and Capt. Hammer in my head...
And this reminds me, I've still got to see episode two of Castle.
"And I liked the bit about how Castle was analyzing Barney like he was one of his characters, because that's one of my favorite parts about his character."
Yeah, that was pretty much the basis of this piece. It was originally going to be more in-depth, but whatever.

Then my work here is done. :P Another fun fact: there were originally going to be way more DH references, but they didn't work out. I did manage to insert one pretty obvious one, though.

Yeah, that was pretty much the point. :P My friends and I noticed a while back how many blond jerks there are in romantic comedies and such, and since Barney's not your usual protaganist, I thought I'd play with Castle's genre expectations. :D
Barney didn’t read much in the way of fiction - he’d read the Harry Potter books (it was amazing how many chicks loved that damn kid. Of course, he’d sided with Voldemort. All he was trying to do was get his power back, and some whiny teenage kid had ruined it for him), and there’d been one or two novels about lesbians (huge disappointments. They were all about discovering womanhood and not about, say, hot girls licking each other. Waste. Of. Paper).

And I just finished watching it. It was really good! I think I feel my own crossover coming on now...

Oh, man. One of your cracktastic crossovers, hopefully?

But no... this isn''t the obvoius crossover. Oh no.
Someone's going to get there before me, I know it.
But if they don't, I might write the idea as a follow-on from yours. It would totally work.
If you don't mind.

You wove the fandoms together quite well.
