Ok, for some reason, Russian-speaking people are adding me without telling me. I don't know why. Yeah, I am a member of a Russian community. I speak Russian. But why the hell are you going to add me when I do not know you, will never know you, and you never comment or message me? Ever since I've had an lj, random people friend me that I do not want

This is one of the many reasons why my journal is friends only. I don't want random people reading it.

A lot of the Russian LJs are bots actually. The way I deal with unwanted friends is just to only add people back that I want as friends, and then friends lock anything with personal information...or you can friends lock your entire LJ.

True. I have only befriended about 20 people, but 45 have befriended me. I really don't mind people reading my journal, it's just that I'm tired of poor etiquette. If someone adds me, let me know!

I just kind of put up with it and lock important things. None of these people ever comment on anything I unlock. This does, however annoy me as well. I thought about changing my LJ once but realized what a huge pain in the butt it would be...and it would eventually start to happen again. I like my LJ so I just ignore them.

I keep my LJ friends-locked and left one post for the public to view stating "my page is friends-locked, send me a message if you want to friends me." I did this after I heard about how someone at a company I used to work for got fired for something she said on her blog.

Or you can do like Friggasgirl and lock the important posts and just keep stuff you don't care about open to public view.

I don't think you should leave altogether as you seem to be benefiting from the posting you're doing, and, I don't want to see you go ! I read your posts regularly
