We have these two, enormously heavy volumes of the complete Far Side comics. Victory will sit there on the couch for hours reading them. Tonight, she had her non-working 'Secret Teacher' cellphone and a tiny, plastic Wizard's staff for a stylus. She exclaimed, "oh, there is NO WAY." Reminded me of babysitting Zoey a few days ago. In the space of 3 hours we: played Sorry, Connect 4, some other kid's game, excerized in the back yard, played lincoln logs, worked on my rubik's cube, looked up on the internet if a person really can turn orange from eating too many carrots, and I taught her how to count negative numbers.

It is truly staggering, the daily reminders of how hungry and brilliant young minds can be. Tall order to keep up with, and totally worth it.
