MD saw the hematologist the week before last. Apparently, two results were not conclusive enough so he wrote orders for MD to have a blood draw a week for 5 weeks then come back. Unfortunately, he didn't forward these orders on to her personal physician as he said he would so MD had to nag various doctor's offices by phone. I'm pretty proud of her ( Read more... )

Last fall, MD's intention to work on a paper at school was thwarted by none of the school machines having OpenOffice. So, over the hols I made her install OpenOffice portable on a flash drive.

Today she actually used it! And admitted to me that it had come in -- I paraphrase -- right handy!

My knees have hurt since I jumped off a low wall at the Chicago Botanic Garden on July 1st, 2005. Anytime they are bent and weight bearing they hurt. This means going up and down stairs (I live in a two story house), sitting down in a chair or getting up or anything similar.

So, it was -16 when I drove to work this morning. That's Fahrenheit, folks, and doesn't include the wind chill (-30 something).

But the sad thing is I had the AC on in a futile attempt to keep the windows from fogging up!
