I've been tempted to get a Tumblr myself, since almost all of my current fandom (Les Misérables) is there, but I've refrained because I know it would be a huge timesuck (and also because a lot of the discourse gets on my nerves, tbh). But if it provides you with what you need, I'm glad! And I definitely see the benefit of being able to post short, random things without having to Make A Post about it.

Hi hi! Late but better than ever; I had my last bit of the semester and didn't log in here again, whoops. /facepalm

It is a huge timesuck, especially when you're like me and not that great at maintaining multiple accounts. But, yeah, I think it does have benefits in addition to the trickier stuff like managing your time. When I get home tired and just scroll through my dashboard, though...it can be so nice to just have a ton of information without needing to do anything more than scroll down. XD

HI 'SUP GLAD YOU'RE NOT DELETING :D also, totally with you re: Tumblr. The only reason I'm kinda back on LJ right now is that I just moved and needed a place to write looooong entries about how fucking stressful everything is, and that I GRADUATED and finally have time to do that again. @____@ Tumblr got me through college though, haha.

Yeah, I think LJ is more user-friendly when it comes to long text (and privacy settings), which is among the reasons I'm not getting rid of it. Welcome to the graduate club! I'll check your actual entries but I take it you're not doing a bonus round like I am, huh? XD Which I completely understand, because unless you find a super great department and super want to pursue something it might not be worth the stress and economic pain.

Yeah, the guilt was just something I needed to work through; it wasn't anyone else's fault, really, just my weird mental associations and projections coupled with procrastination. Tumblr as a platform annoyed me for the longest time, too. It works a lot better if you get a browser fix-it like xKit or something along those lines.
