Does everyone despise the word cum? I wrote that (in lieu of "come") in the first drafts to some of my stories (as I heard the pornotastic base line in my head) and was (blessedly) told the same thing by my betas.
And I feel like a sinner for not yet having read amanuensis' fic! I've been preoccupied with another fandom.
There's something about that word that just smells funny; like old glossy magazines that have been shoved under your brother's mattress for three years, or the back of the seedy liquor store you wont visit after 6pm.
OMG! Read it! It's really lovely, I'm not sure I adequately conveyed how lovely if you didn't race over there and read it :D
LOVED the Happy Half Blood Prince. Started the Sensible Garden and just couldn't get past Snape getting cuddly with a cute Weasley kid. Boiling one up for a potion, yes, get snuggly with her, no.
I loved the HHBP too! Sensible Garden breaks all kinds of rules, but it is worth it. Though you'll be biting your tongue (and BAWLING!) if you read it ;)
I'm so glad to see you back writing reviews. A great many times, you say exactly what I'm thinking about a story.
I enjoyed The (Happy) Half-blood Prince, too. And Sensible Garden, and I agreed with your take on it. It broke a lot of rules. But on the other hand, it was a good solid story.
It was a solid story def a rec + I think it's one of those stories that will change in later readings, you know how when you reread something six months later and you think, WOW how did I miss that?!
