s21 affected me quite a bit as well. the strangest part for me was that people still buy some of the propaganda. with its bombing raids, america (for instance) actually encouraged rural support for KR. but this and hundreds of other critiques of western hands in asias business go unmentioned.

OMG you guys. Don't you dare call yourself a wimp, you are a much better person than I. I think I would have ran after the first emotional tour. I think the reason why you felt that way Nikki, is because you have such a kind soul and want to help everyone, and this was definitely unable to be helped by you. Wow, I am still shocked with what I read, so I can't even imagine how you guys are feeling after viewing it all. I had actually thought that you had made a misprint too, but wow, it wasn't all that long ago that all this took place was it? As you said, not even HISTORY yet. I think we definitely take our lives and our culture for granted, we have such an easy life compared to others, and yet we still find the time to whinge about it! I hope the images leave your head soon and enable you to have pleasant travels from here on in Nikki.

Your style of writing always has a way of making me feel like i'm experiencing it just a bit too...your descriptions are so vivid. In this instance tho...i wish you werent so good!
I'm sitting here horrified - I really would not have even lasted 10 mins... it seems totally surreal...and makes me feel really fucking (apologies to the rellies!) lucky to live in Australia... and puts what I consider to be its flaws into greater perspective.
