Help me decide stuff for a good cause!!

This is pretty cool--my old boss at Hogar is offering to donate $250 to a charity of my choice in honor of my 2.5 years of service to the organization. YAY!!! The problem is that I can never decide between all the different good causes out there (which is why I´m into collective donations like the ones made by my phone company, Credo Mobile, or

With smaller donations I personally prefer to donate to smaller local charities. Mostly because I feel that my money will be able to make a more direct impact.

As an education nerd, I would vote for the Migrant Head Start program. Particularly because that is a community that strives so hard to further itself, but ends up limiting future generations due to the nature of the work available to them and the difficulty of education in those circumstances.

I agree you should go local - how about the naturalists? I remember how excited you were when you earned your Master Naturalist certification.
