i hate being mediocre at things, especially if its my passion.maybe i should just give up with music alltogether.its not just music, i hate not being exceptionally good in something.i think im just negative but after 4 years of playing bass , then hearing people play for a couple of months sound as good as if not better than me, is really pissing

if you have a passion for it, don't quit. I'm not good enough to play guitar for any other reason but as an outlet to feel good. I can't perform and it will never be my career, but I do have a passion for art and music. It's just become some I do for fun. No worries. Be happy! :-)

Oh. Don't worry about it. Some people have a natural talent or maybe you can focus more on it? I'm sure you're fine. It's most likely just a psychological insecurity. The skill is there, I bet the confidence isn't.
