i completely agree with you maia. i love presents (buying and receiving), because they're fun. but i love my family and friends more than i love presents.
See, I love -giving- gifts, but I'm always embarrassed when I receive gifts. xD; I feel like just saying thanks isn't really enough. (I'm STILL thanking my sister for getting me my laptop back in 2004, lol...)
And EXACTLY. It gets really, -really- tiring to hear people complain about stupid small things (which I am often guilty of myself :/) especially if they have no real sense of hardship.
I was making grateful lists on my LJ and I think I want to go back to doing that, especially when Matt ships out because it'll be so easy to simply sit around and mope. *cheers for the have-a-job segment* And congrats on not being in a car! xD I'm grateful for being in a car, as it means Matt and I are out doing something, lol. :3 And we know doing anything at all with him makes a happy Maia happier. :3
Thank you for the cards, by the way, Matt liked them. :)
Homan, am I glad to hear the car wreck wasn't as bad as it could be. I mean, it was probably a terrible mess and one of the worst Christmas gifts ever, but hey... No one died, right? There's always new days on the horizon. By the way... Kudos to you guys for stopping to lend a hand! ♥ That was seriously an awesome thing to do, in this day and age of people looking the other way when there's trouble.
Yea. Haha, well you know how my Christmas was summed up. I ended up being more grateful that I still had a family that I hadn't alienated than getting any presents. And I know that my family loves me, without having to buy that love, or have my love bought in return. Good times.
... Seems like we're trading comments back-and-forth here, LOL. -stalks-
