I am happily ensconced in beautiful Sebastopol, CA for the next 10 days, where I hope to run into Tom Waits at the Gravenstein Apple Fair this weekend.

I am housesitting/cat sitting at a lovely house with a bananas garden/deck/fountain/lounging area, halfway between Bodega Bay and The Bohemian Grove (of Tales of the City fame), and couldn't ask ( Read more... )

I am sad to miss kitty bonding this week, but so far, he is awesome.

This kitty is haughtily indifferent to me, unless he wants out, in which case he sits on my head at 4:45am and bats at my nose until I comply.

But I'll win him over yet.

The kitty is awesome. He is very high energy, I am told, now that he has stopped hiding under the couch all the time.

He's so pretty, too! And he was abandoned in a house with his older brother! I almost wanted to call him "Ryan."

Also, I have visited the byways of my childhood for you. I have astoundingly bad taste.

I didn't know that you'd lived here! How cool!

I am off Bodega Highway, up past the Luther Burbank farm, if that's at all familiar to you? It's not too far from the center of down, but it's tucked away on an unpaved road with a lot of land, so it feels like the middle of nowhere to me.

This is so much nicer than the small town in which I spent my last year in PA. Better coffee, for sure!
