i don't know if you'd believe it if i told you, but i was just thinking about you yesterday and contemplating a new and desireable way to send you a postcard
oh shit. you DID send me a postcard that I didn't return, didn't you?! man. I'm sorry, I'll git right on that shit.
P.S. what'd you think of that picture? developed it in all that chemical crap myself. then had to photoshop it to undo all the shitty contrast I got from thinking I knew how to use polymax filters...
oh man, it's been so long i totally don't remember. sadness.
when i see that photo i can feel a hot summer sun beating on my face. is this a self-portrait? i am mighty impressed, either way. randomly, did you use the soften tool for the bottom portion of the photo?
i think your composition is successful. you didn't place the point of interest in the center, causing a conflict in the arrangement. if you had placed yourself in the lower third of the photo there wouldn't have been enough concrete to grasp your intent. props to you for that. i also really dig the thoughts the imagery invokes (who is this boy and why has he fallen? was it a car or another person whose caused him harm? etc) i think it's a really successful photograph and i'd like to see more of your work.
(can you tell i'm still in "critique mode" from my 3d design class? heh.)
nah, all I did was adjust the levels and magic-wanded the sky and cranked up the contrast. The concrete looks like that cos the camera is sitting like. butt naked on the pavement, and the focal point was about 5 feet away.
Yeah, it is all self-portrait. I focused on a stick I set on the ground, hit the self timer and threw myself down on the stick. See, the reaon I think that art school would sicken me: having to explain intent on every fuckin thing that you create. I don't think stuff out, I just DO it. trying to bring language into it is just a totally forced thing with me. alright. indie mode off.
