God, I know this convo. My mother went to bed for two days when I pierced my nose as a teen. Years later, as an adult, we had a conversation about my tattoos, which she despises. And I said how is this any different from my sibling's boob job? She said it was different because my sister was improving her body. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

That's hilarious. I didn't end up getting my nose pierced. I wanted to though. My at the time fiance said I'd look like his grandmother if I went through with it. For the record, his grandmother and aunt both sported nose piercings.

I like how you made this funny :)

The longer I live, the more yeah...I have less room to be allowed to judgeothers' choices due to ones I myself have made.

My son (will be 21 in April) got a tattoo at 18. And I felt kind of..omg about it. He is/was so young etc.

But its on his shoulder. Its a Banksy

I hope you feel more free to be who you are now :)

To be fair, sexy times in a cemetery sounds kind of fun. Or would have about ten years ago. I live near one now, and it's attached to a church, so maybe not so much.

I remember one of my best friends having a similar conversation with her mother after getting a full-sleeve tattoo (she already had several others that were in mostly hidden areas, but this was the first really big one and the first one that would be hard to cover up). "How are you going to feel when you're in a nursing home and you're all covered in those tattoos?" her mother would say.

"Well, mom, when I'm in a nursing home, all of the people my age that are currently covered in tattoos will also be in nursing homes, so I don't think anyone's really going to care," was the response she gave. Her mother couldn't really come back from that, but still wasn't very happy!
