I've been watching Netflix (Instantly on Your PC!!) movies.  Every week, I seem to stumble onto a WW II movie that I simply must watch.  The only bad WWII movie I can think of was Pearl Harbor, and really, that wasn't bad except the story surrounding the actual event.

We landed in Malta on Wednesday, February 4th, at 2pm.  It was our last port of call and also the shortest.  We'd be leaving Malta by 6pm.

Normally, landing at a port means that when you get up in the morning, you're already there.  We entered most ports around 5 in the morning.  Not so here.

We stopped at the port of Alexandria, Egypt.  They advised us to purchase an excursion through Royal Carribean, since navigating through Egypt can be tricky.

Turns out, nearly the entire population of the ship had purchased excursions.  We had to wait on Deck 5 to be given our bus number, then we were led outside to our bus.  There were a ton of ( Read more... )

I absolutely hate the way I sound when I say "Nawhhh."  Bleh....  Here are some of the sites and sounds of Cyprus.  I didn't get a lot of video of Cyprus, but you should get a feel for the utter peace and serenity of the place.

On Sunday February 1st, we arrived in Limassol, Cyprus.  This was a shorter visit than most, since we'd only be in port from 9am until 3pm.

The ship had to dock a long way from the main port, the one closest to the city, so Royal Carribean offered complimentary bus rides to the center of the city.  We ended up leaving the boat around noon and ( Read more... )

Okay, so maybe I get a little over-earnest about deadlines and being on time.  But I was sort of scared that I had gotten the time wrong, because we had to put our clocks forward during the trip, and that the deadline for being onboard was 3:30pm instead of 4:30pm.  Two minutes before the final boarding call, the ship will blow its horns 3 times.   ( Read more... )
