I was very curious to know what the results would be from the upcoming US Presidential election, so I borrowed a car from a friend of mine and went to check it out.

it could be very depressing It might not be depressing if you could go backward rather than forward. Since it is a *possible* time machine, it should be able to do that. If you only went back say 20-30 years you might find that although some people (the majority of the population) worked harder than they have to today, it wasn't very much harder and there was a less hysterical, constantly offended or defending or chip on the shoulder pace to things. Or, at least it was easier to pretend this was the case in some parts of the country.

Thanks--I didn't plan that post, it just kind of flowed out of me. When I work hard on them, they're never as good.
There is something to be said for going back to a time before social media. So many books to read without distraction, not to mention I could work harder at submitting books to traditional publishers--without all the competition that comes from self-publishing, these days. I wouldn't miss getting exposed to the haters all the time. On the other hand, I've met a lot of great people on social media, and a lot of them are very different from me.

I’m not sure I would want a Time Machine in these times - it could be very depressing.
