Finally got a DSLR to replace my old SLR that I haven't used in years. Film is so expensive and the turnaround time is too long. The instant feedback digital provides should allow me to experiment and learn much faster.
Thanks! I want to take another moon picture while it is not completely full. At the boundary between the light and dark part of the moon there should be peaks of craters visible in the dark which gives a sense for how textured the surface is. Full moon pictures always look flat because there are no shadows.
I think you mean Sassy with her paws folded under. ; )
There are some very nice and somewhat affordable DSLRs out there now. I've found that you really don't need to buy the high end/high megapixel models to get great results. A majority of the quality in a photo comes from the photographer's eye and the lenses/accessories used. Canon and Nikon are the best because there are so many items for those cameras. Pentax and Sony just don't have as many. Lenses are expensive too, so saving a bit on the camera body to invest more in lenses will pay off.
