If you find another decent family here, then why not stay with them for a year? You can absolutely get a work permit for that long, just not for longer than 2 years as an au pair.

I would definitely find a job, at any rate. You've already got credit card debt, so you're spending money you don't have. What about that other family with the twins?

I would totally stay for the year, or at least until August because then I would be able to take my exams in Australia at the end of November, which would work out perfectly....I think that I would still be able to change my residence permit address...if that would be possible....

I emailed the family today, and as of yet they still have not replied...but i might give them a call tomorrow and see if I can meet up with them again.

Also call the people whose numbers you got from eAupair. And keep searching on both aupair-world.net and greataupair, and whatever that other one was that we found (newaupair or something?). Amend your profiles to point out that you'd love to meet up with families; this is a big advantage you have over other applicants, and you definitely want to use it.

Also, sign into eAupair now, someone wants to chat with you.

Oh and I also heard from that lady with the older people...They are already meeting with another Au-pair tomorrow and then they will tell me how that goes...but who knows...I will wait and see...

One more thought: you could always post to aupair and explain your situation, and see if anyone else there has any suggestions for you. They might have some other sites you could check out, or others options you haven't thought of, etc.
