So, I've been thinking a lot lately. Bad news, I know, but this hasn't been my usual thinking a lot, it's actually been interesting and not in (too much of) a rut- and that of it which has been in a loop has been a good loop. nobody can tell you that. you live with what your own conscience dictates. even in my religion and using my key to life (Biblical info) it says that each person is different and some people can handle eating meat and others can't. i don't know. i just interpret that as, some people's conscience's allow for different things. honestly, although i think being a consumer whore is pretty horrid, it's better than living in communism.

The question of whether or not its enough to simply not live in excess instead of being a consumer whore, is interesting. Granted, if you were a "consumer whore" I think you should feel guilt, what with all the poorness that is around us. I'm sure that if it came down to it, even the consumer whores would be able to survive without their toys or fast cars. It comes down to how comfortable you are with yourself. While you aren't rich, you do have the money to buy more expensive items, like your computer or car. Are you comfortable with the fact that you have the money to do that? If you aren't comfortable, then why not? You haven't stolen to get these things. You worked the system so that you could afford them. I'm not sure I'm making myself completely clear. For example, my family has never been anywhere close to rich. In fact, when I was very young we were extremely poor. I'm not talking about "we can't own two cars" poor, I mean "we better have a garden and hunt deer or we aren't going to be able to eat" poor. Now that ( ... )
