Even though Cade had managed to get off his shift a little early - by getting someone to cover for him - he was still cutting it fine. House was right; the buses in Princeton sucked. Well, probably buses everywhere sucked.

Finally, the one Cade was on stopped at the right place and he hopped off. Checking his watch, Cade hurriedly walked to the bar wondering if House would even show up at all. Once he was there, Cade went through the door and scanned the room. He quickly spotted House sitting at the bar and smirked a little. So…he had come.

Cade walked up and sat down on the stool next to House, dumping his bag at his feet, in way of announcing himself. He glanced down at the glass in front of House and raised an eyebrow. “Have you gone straight?” Cade asked, attempting to look as if he wasn’t aware of the innuendo in the question.

House checked his watch again. Three minutes had passed. Cade had two minutes to get his ass here. He sighed and lifted his water up for a sip, letting his mind start to wander over the day he'd had. Spending more time than necessary trying to decide whether to make a reservation for Cuddy at the Marriot, arriving late at work because of that, giving her the gift and how awkward that had been, Cade then paying him an unannounced visit in his office... and now at the bar ( ... )

“I just wanted you to think you might get out of this before I arrived,” Cade said with a brief grin. “Alas, you are not free,” he added with mock-mournfulness, clapping House on the shoulder for a moment before hailing the bar girl.

“I’ll have a beer thanks,” Cade said, returning the girl’s mildly flirtatious smile. She was pretty. He then looked at House to see if he was going to order something a little harder than water. “Not afraid of getting drunk around me, are you?”

"Yeah, nothing like being lured into a false sense of security," House dryly replied.

He dropped his eyes down to where Cade's hand slapped him on the shoulder, then glanced back up at him in time to see Cade exchange flirty smiles with the bar girl. Huh. So, Cade was just the flirtatious type all round, or he was in fact bisexual. Or both.

He went to lift his glass for another sip, interrupted by Cade's question. House looked at him before narrowing his eyes mock suspiciously. "Should I be?"
