My old, one eyed dog had a big birthday on Sept 28. We had cake, party hats, and noise makers. Good thing the 'ol dog is deaf as a stone 'cause the noise makers freaked out the cats something serious. Stupid Cats! The only downer was his twin brother wasn't there to share the birthday with him. I miss that dog so much!

It's been just over a week since I made the tough choice and had my dog of 17yr put down. I still weep every single day when i visualize his life slipping away in my arms. I weep when I think of all the cool attributes and personality traits he had and displayed. I really miss him a lot.

Took my Dogs on a stroll by Lunnbreck Falls in the foothills of the Rockies in S. Alberta yesterday. Very windy. Two of the three are old (16yrs) deaf, and mostly blind mixed breeds. got my vehicle so gaddamn stuck yesterday..it wasn't even funny. The really stoopid part was I could see how bad it was drifted over and yet...I still went for it..for about 20 feet. Dumbass! It took 1.5 hrs of digging plus the assistance of 3 burly guys to push it back out.
