II. The Team

I'm actually a little surprised!  There's interest from a couple people in baseball!  I haven't played it since I started coming to Hogwarts...

If enough people want to play, we could actually get together and have a little game one weekend!

That would be awesome!

But I'm also looking forward to the Quidditch match.  I'm a little torn!  Go, Gryffindor ( Read more... )

quidditch, take me out to the ball game

It's a muggle sport! I played it before coming to Hogwarts.

You're one of the players, right? Fight hard!

A little like quidditch, but there are a few differences. Since it's a muggle sport, there's no magic involved, either.

Heh, well, I don't really have any interest in playing sports, but if you get a game organized I'll at least come to cheer you on.

Ah, bummer, we could use more players!

I'm sure you'd have a lot of fun!

I don't really like running around and getting dirty...

I'm sure I'll have much more fun watching you play.

Well, everyone divides into two teams, and they take turns on offense or defense. The people on offense take turns hitting the ball that the pitchers throw at them. There's four bases - home plate, and first to third plate. To score a point for your team, you have to hit the ball and run around each plate. If the defensive team catches the ball and tags you while they have it before you reach the base, you have to go sit back down on the bench and you don't get the point for your team.

Hahah, it's nice that there are finally other people interested. If we get enough people, maybe we could make a club!

Hahah, we'll have to talk to the teachers, though. Maybe the muggle studies teacher...?
