In the crowd that wove in and about the crystal, Lu Xun searched for a familiar face that he had not seen in a long time. He remembered the surprise he had when he first heard of how the dead lived in this world, but it had not prepared him for what had eventually happen - that the High Commander, Gongjin, could be one of them. And if he was here, the chances that others could be summoned to this world were very high...

He closed his eyes, shaking off that train of thought inwardly. Not now. Focus, Lu Xun berated himself as he opened his eyes and noticed how Gongji was looking at him thoughtfully. Smiling, he said, "That the four of us would be here, it's pleasant, is it not?" Lu Xun felt truly glad that he was not alone, that he had people he could depend and rely on, in this foreign world.

There wasn't enough credit given to Gan Ning, as he had stayed within the Crystal's vicinity ever since the old king had started talking, the fact that the others had congregated on the other side of the gem was no fault of his. However, the fact that he chose to wait minutes before attempting a circle probably was, but no one needed to be informed of the fact. When he had spotted the familiar forms, Gan Ning had ambled his way slowly and debated on whether a surprise tackle on the more annoying one of the two was a good idea.

It wasn't. At least not when the majority of the crowd had chosen to step out of his way to leave him without cover and the red of his armor was enough of a beacon for everyone else. He would have it for another time.

"The High Commander not here yet?" was all he said in terms of a greeting. All excitement of being in a new world aside, meeting someone who was formerly dead again was possibly going to be the more thrilling. The sun was still out too, Gan Ning wondered if the man would melt.

True to his word to Xingba, Zhou Yu had gone around the city in search of an establishment that sold the kind of weapons he used. This excursion proved to be one of futility, however, as he was loathe to compromise when it came to his weapons, and in the end, the former Wu Commander was forced to walk back to the Crystal empty-handed. He knew he could not have possibly seen all the city had to offer as it was a very big place and so he did this with very little disappointment.

"It is good to see you all," Zhou Yu said warmly as he walked towards the group that had gathered beside the Crystal. It wasn't difficult at all to spot his fellow comrades from Wu, predominantly red armor and all, and by the way people consciously gave berth to them, it looked like they were aware of the tiny reunion as well.

Ling Tong spared an ungenerous glance in Gan Ning’s direction as he spoke up. It was a question that required no answer anyway, it wasn’t as if he couldn’t see from himself.

“I wouldn’t have expected to meet again, certainly not like this,” he murmured softly, partly to himself, partly to Boyan. Ling Tong shifted the weight in his feet unconsciously, waiting with practiced patience. He didn’t straighten from his slight slouch until he caught sight of that long missed face, Commander Gongjin looking as well as he had before the battle of Chi Bi.

He was glad, as glad as anyone else in Wu would have been to see him, but Ling Tong was also speechless. Whatever eloquence he had possessed and whatever talent his smart mouth had, fled in the face of something almost surreal. He just dipped his head slightly, gathering his wits and tried not to think that he was seeing a ghost. “As fate would have it we will be comrades again.” It wasn’t quite like seeing his father again but it was on par to that certainly.

Lu Xun nodded at Xingba; an answer, an acknowledgement and a greeting placed in one small motion. He glanced at Gongji when the other spoke and quietly, curiously noted the way his friend was standing. Yes, it was unexpected, that much was certain - but Gongji was not really honest with himself, was he?

Just as he was to reply, Lu Xun saw the expression on Gongji's face changed and turned in time to hear their former Commander speak. Whatever speech he had prepared inside his head eluded his thoughts, the reality that his mentor - once dead, but now alive - was truly standing in front of them now struck him.

"Master Gongjin," he whispered. Lu Xun wondered if his voice shook.
