I really like my cats. I am also fully aware that they are not people. They have never been people, they will never BE people, they're. just. cats. Totally different

I hate it when people think I think my pets are people XD I observe them a lot and compare and contrast them with humans, but they ARE NOT HUMANS XD

Yes! Sometimes I assign them complex levels of thought/emotion, but that does not mean they are people! I think that people just have an issue with other people being so involved with animals, they get uncomfortable because they think we should only have that level of attachment to people so they self-soothe by assuming we look at the animals as human.
