I got my treadmill on Tuesday and I've been slowly working my way towards a good workout on it. I decided it might be a good idea to keep a daily record of my progress, not just for my own motivation, but also to show the cardiologist. I just reread my stent and myocardial infarction handbook they sent home with me when I left the hospital and I'm not even supposed to be walking uphill because it would overtax my heart. A couple days ago my little boy turned 30 years old. I think that makes makes me officially old. He had a good birthday. He and I went into Bismarck (he had a doctor appointment anyway) and his dad and I bought him a bike lock and lights for his new bicycle. Then we had lunch at Paradiso. It's been an interesting week. Saturday night I started to ache in my left shoulder. It got better and I fell asleep around 1:00am. I woke up feeling some better on Sunday morning, but by noon I was hurting pretty badly again.  I noticed that it radiated from my shoulder down my arm and up into my jaw, so I told Brian he might need to take me into ( Read more... )

I guess it's high time I posted something. My last post was two weeks ago and at that time Mom was going into Camellia Rose for rehab. She was only there until last Saturday at which time she returned to her apartment. Well, it's been a long week. Last Thursday before we left for Wisconsin Mom fell. She wasn't even going to go with us for the crafting weekend, but finally relented and agreed to go in the wheelchair. The snow here is pretty much gone and the outside thermometer is reading near 50 when I get up in the morning, so welcome spring! Our irises have broken through the ground and I'm really looking forward to them blooming so that I can post a photo.

Yesterday I had my MRI at 8:00am and then saw my doctor to find out the results. It turns out my right leg pain is from my back. Between L5 (the last vertebrae) and the sacrum the disc has ruptured and the space is narrowing. This is putting pressure on the nerve that runs down my leg.
