Re: Blake -- Did he illustrate these himself? I know he did such things. I have a book of Milton (I know I can't stand him but still - I'm a collector) illustrated by Blake.
Re: barely hanging on -- Read it like you'd read Faulkner for the first time (his weird stuff). Let go of having to understand every little part and let the cohesive whole gel. Or, or in addition to that, you can also read it paragraph by paragraph and paraphrase it in your own works on paper. (Like you have time for that!) It takes time, but that is what I do with the REALLY confusing stuff, like my presentation on the post-structuralist view of discourse as written by a really abstract French guy. I just put it into words that I could understand and went -- oh -- that's what they mean. Why didn't they say so? :Re: Having to choose between Southern and Appalachian -- My experience is that you never "have to" choose stuff like that, but that you will run into people who will tell you that you do. My advice? Ignore them. "Southern Appalachian" sounds more
