Happily, today went okay.  After a ton of preparation last night, I had a good meeting with the professor I was dreading--as others have reported, he's a great guy outside of class.  He told me that he's happy with my work in class, and has heard good things about my work in the Writing Center.  So, that was a giant relief.  I think I have a handle ( Read more... )

I'm writing this while I wait for Endnote and Microsoft Word to do their magic--if it works correctly, the list of 11 works in Endnote that I've highlight should show up as a works cited list in Word, already in MLA format and all of that.  However, sometimes when I ask Word and Endnote to play together as they're supposed to, the result is just ( Read more... )

Today in the lovely, local, gigantic McKay's Used Books, I saw this book of poetry written by "indie" musicians.  As it only came out in 2003, there is simply no excuse that I can think of that in 200 pages of poetry, there are NO WOMEN REPRESENTED.  I saw online that there's a second volume, that seems to have four women in it--out of 75 total ( Read more... )

I had so much fun this evening!  At Yoga Haven, where I've taken yoga, there was a free yogadance class class tonight.  It was the best time!  The class was structured around the chakras, and every couple of songs were themed around a different chakra.  What was wonderful to me was the lack of direction--it was mostly very free-form.  For example, ( Read more... )
