Thought I would join and as I have joined thought I would post to introduce myself.

I'm a pretty big Palahniuk fan, his book being the first book being aimed at a target audience for adults that I actually read and well reading Invisible Monsters as a 14 year old was pretty intense.

Read Rant next. Snuff was okay for an afternoon read but not as incredible as his others. Choke was decent but I'd probably never see it again. If it wasn't a Palahniuk book first I would say that it wasn't very good as a film.

Survivor was my first taste of Palahniuk. Obviously, owning five other novels of his later, I keep coming back for more. I was actually surprised when you did not list Survivor as one of your reads. So, I would definitely read that one as soon as possible.

As for the film Choke, I was disappointed beyond belief. However, I didn't even like the film Fight Club. There are certain novels that you can visualize intensely and then there are those in which you hear, as in one narrator in all of his sarcastic and degrading glory. This film did not make an impact. My favorite parts of the novel were with the mother, but the film only did a few flashbacks that did not dig deep enough into the boy's psyche, in my opinion.

Just stay away from the film Choke and read Survivor! :)
