Well, yeah, sort of, but y'know talking about an indigo aura isn't particularly useful. I remain convinced that we're talking about impulse control or lack thereof. And I don't believe that a lack of impulse control is now or ever was useful for who have it. It may be associated with other qualities (creativity, intelligence, what-have-you), but lack of impulse control, by itself, is not such a wonderful thing. But calling it "indigo aura" is a fine way to rationalize a real problem. And I suppose articles like this piss me off a bit--they ultimately trivialize and make ridiculous the real children.
yeah, I know. They do kind of have a point--which is that mainstream schools stifle creativity--but it's been so "new-ageicized" that it basically negates any validity.
I kind of like the recasting though: it's not a bug, it's a feature.
Well, there are aspects to the impulse control stuff that seem like features, but on the whole--more of a bug. Though not as much as bad eyes, for example. I can correct my vision, but the eyes themselves are bad. She can actually modify her behavior and has to really think about who she is and how she learns, so not a total bug...
oy, bad impulse control = bug. all the stuff that supposedly goes with it, not so much. I'd much rather be like this than not. so there. even if it is kind of like driving a very beat up old car. That car has character! so don't even think about medicating me, I like me the way I am, not medications please, unless they are physiologically necessary (i.e. I'll get sick and die or pregnant or something with out them).
And I don't like indigo. can I be purple or red instead?
