We want to buy a spacesaver elliptical fitness machine. Here are our choices:

1) Brand new from Sears, with a two-year Sears warranty (that kicks in after the 1 year manufacturer's warranty) for $550

2) The exact same model, purchased less than a year ago, used only a couple of times, being sold on craigslist for $150 (no warranty).

As I type this, lawmakers are filing in to the Massachusetts State House to convene the Constitutional Convention that will decide whether the civil rights of gays and lesbians to marry will be put to a popular vote.

I just wanted to let you know that Mango, my dog in Hawaii, was put to sleep last night. She was 14 and 1/2 years old, and was suffering with mast cell tumors. She was one of the best. dogs. EVER.

Until the cancer got bad, she was the youngest 14 year old dog I'd ever known.

I miss her little smile already.

I thought I got lucky because as of yesterday I hadn't caught Brian's horrible stomach/intestinal virus. He got so bad we went to the ER on Sunday night. My birthday came and went on Tuesday and I thought I was in the clear...

I don't know why they call it that *. I'm here in Houston with Brian, visiting his folks, soaking up sunshine and family time!

The weather's been incredible since we arrived on Thursday. Highs in the mid-70s, lows in the mid-50s, and sunshine all the way.
