I read about this "self-tag" over at Grammar Piano.  Here's what Lee wrote:

"So I'm tagging myself, and after this you tag yourself.

These are the meme rules:

  1. Look up page 123 in the nearest book.
  2. Look for the fifth sentence.
  3. Post the three sentences that follow that fifth sentence on page 123."

Well...I'm in the Common Room, so none of these books ( Read more... )

"Early walled towns appeared on the Indian subcontinent in about 2500 B.C.E. Over the next 2,000 years, a unique civilization developed in India.
"According to an ancient Indian story, a river god and goddess once lived in the snow-capped Himalayas, a mountain range north of the valleys. One day, they decided to race down the mountains to the plains below."

"Anyone who kidnaps another and either sells him or still has him when he is caught must be put to death. If men quarrel and one hits the other with a stone or with his fist and he does not die but is confined to bed, the one who struck the blow will not be held responsible if the other gets up and walks around outside with his staff; however, he must pay the injured man for the loss of his time and see that he is completely healed. If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property." Exodus 21: 16-21

Since we talked about the Beatitudes last night in Bible study this is sort of an interesting passage to consider. Rules, we do need them but they can strangle us as well as guide us.

This section of the dialog box also lists information about the selected printer, such as its status and where it's connected.
Note: If you want to adjust the printer's settings, click the properties button to display a property box for the selected printer. The exact dialog box that you see depends on the printer.
Cool, huh?

"Hubert Humphrey" has always amused me, for its alliteration. And, add that my Russian prof told me that Russians, not having an "h" in their alphabet, transliterate them as "g," well, that cinches it for me. Just say it along with me, and you'll smile, too:
