Oh, great. Our internet just stopped working. =P I'm going to type this anyway, in hopes (probably vain ones) that it will right itself by the time I'm done. Otherwise I might have to go shoot the DSL modem dead, quite dead. Blasted cruddy piece of technology, that--it's always going out for absolutely no reason ( Read more... )

Ugh, I don't envy you on the ACT front. None of the northeastern schools seem to be interested in ACT scores, so I took SATs and PSATs. I did well but I studied hard. The worst was the GRE - I took that last fall . . . the math was relatively simple (same level as the SAT, roughly Algebra 1 level) but the English was ridiculous.

I wonder if the SAT is harder or easier than the ACT? I would just do the SAT, but the school I'm hoping to attend prefers the ACT scores. I wish I had taken care of this a long time ago, before I was out of school mode, but...I wasn't planning to go to school then. :\

I think the ACT is easier because they don't penalize you for guessing like the SAT does.

Eeesh. ACT's. I'm going to have to go through that sooner than I would like to- October, to be exact. I'm so worried about the math section- I'm terrible, so terrible at it!

Ugh. Well, at least we'll kinda be in it together! ;) And you can tell me how it is when you take it. I wish I would've started studying earlier so I could take the October test, but I didn't know for sure til recently if going to school was even going to be an option.

I was wondering what happened to you today! ;) Hope your problem gets fixed soon!

Well, my connection was only down for about 20 minutes. ;) The rest of the day I was taking tests!

Hmmm...apologizing to the modem. I've never tried that. Taking the ACT test, are you...that reminds me of 1998. It was an okay year...test wise, it was quite excellent...

Yeah, I always apologize to inanimate objects after wrongfully dissing them--wouldn't want them to cry themselves to sleep tonight or anything like that. I'm weird that way. ;)

Did you take the ACT or the SAT? The Bible School I'm hoping to attend prefers the ACT, so....

I took both...I got a 32 composite score on the ACT, and a 1560 on the SAT. They are two very different tests, though (and in the light of Katrina, particularly ironic) both my ACT and SAT asked me questions in the reading sections about a really awful novel by Kate Chopin called "The Awakening", where the heroine drowns in the Mississippi River near New Orleans...

Do you know what the passing score is for the ACT? The web site doesn't say anything about it that I could find--I was curious to see if I could figure out how well I did today scorewise, but I guess there's no way of knowing.

I have that CD of Ferdando Ortega, though I seem to remember you not being incredibly thrilled about any of his music that I shared with you. :-D ::tease::

I'll have to pull it out...it's been awhile since I've listened to it. :-D

Really?? I seem to remember liking it! Anyway, that's what got me into him, actually. I had forgotten about him for a long time, but I remembered recently that I had liked the songs of his that you sent me, and when I realized that BMG had his CDs, I got some.

I love all 3 CDs of his that I have now ("Storm" is the one I got first), and my brothers actually like him too. :)

Hmm...I seem to remember you didn't seem very excited about his songs. :-D Guess I was wrong.

Oh, wow, you have more of his music than I do!!! :-) Do you have his CD that is just piano music?

Well, I'm not quite as picky about music now as I was then, too. ;)

No--what's it called? I have "Storm," "This Bright Hour," and "Breaking of the Dawn." I think the last one is my favorite, but I'm not sure yet.
