They took me two weeks early (Mom was GD, bigtime, on insulin) but things have come a long way in the 36+ years since then.
My mom is telling me from the great beyond to tell you not to cheat Spawn out of birthdays if it turns out to be a New Year's Baby. She was born on January 1, and she was bitter about it until the end.
Hee. Yeah, actually treatment for GD is pretty amazing these days. They're talking that with the advent of glyburide, the amount of women who have to take insulin should go down fairly soon. I'm pretty amazed at how quickly it regulated my sugars like clockwork. They've been very very good, and they said the risks are much less for me than they would be if they had to put me on insulin.
I know I appreciated fewer needles and a better chance at a healthy baby. They say my chances at having real complications are pretty low since I'm not on insulin. I'm happy about that.
Woohoo! Glad to hear everything is going well and that it's fine for Spawn to come whenever s/he feels like it. (I'm leaning toward she, btw. Just thought I'd through that in before the arrival.)
I'm glad to hear that the doctor was able to give you a piece of mind or two. I told you last night that it sounded like it might be soon. I don't think you need to worry about Spawn. Things will move forward when she/he is ready.
I kinda agree with Luci (*shock*). What are you going to write about after Spawn arrives?? Will you go back to the once a month posting again? *GRINS*
I can post pictures of baby poo. Heh. No, who knows. Hopefully I'll be out of my hormone-induced stupor. After a few weeks I'll be back at work so I might have more fun fodder through there. There's always people to poke fun at there.
Especially when I come back to whatever mess has been left for me. I think my assistant will be doing great with her end of the stuff, but we'll see what the other people do when they realize I'm not at their beckon call. I think they'll freak. No, I know they will.
The very damn first thing Mr. Panthy better do after kissing you and the baby and calling his family is POST ON LJ when you have this kid! Tell him! Tell him now!
Heh. I'm not sure he even knows what livejournal is. We have access to internet in the rooms, but we don't own a laptop, so it may have to wait until I get home.
